Women are one of the most susceptible sections of the society, who do not enjoy a life of privileges and promises. A large percentage of women in India struggle with the fetters of patriarchy, gender, discrimination, infanticide, health negligence, abuse, and domestic violence. At Indian Dreams Foundation, our focus has not only been on providing education but also on creating self?

sufficiency and empowerment through soft-skills training and awareness building so that over time, young girls and women are equipped with enough knowledge and skills to make their own ways in the society and have a sustainable livelihood.

Empowerment

The We Connect Project funded by Grand Challenge Canada, provides support, training, counselling, and assistance to the deprived and marginalized young women.
We initiate services which includes intensive job and business counselling, soft-skill, technical, and financial literacy training. One of the important highlights of this project is the Women Connect Group which serves as a small help cooperative unit where girls and women gain technical skills and support for setting up microenterprises in diverse areas, such as manufacturing of sanitary napkins, handcrafted bags and footwear, jewelry and textile sales, and beauty and wellness.

Empowerment Programs

At Indian Dreams Foundation, our approaches towards empowerment are tailor built, catering to the individual needs of adolescence girls and young women. Our empowerment programs focuses on the holistic development of the individuals and help them make their own choices between a life of early marriage, pregnancy and exposure to life threatening diseases, or a life of education, economic independence, and marital prosperity.

Our Empowerment program resonates with the Sustainable Development goals (SDGs) of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) as we strive to attain gender equality and prevent gender based violence by supporting thousands of underprivileged girls and young women.

Every girl can potentially help break the cycle of intergenerational poverty, with ripple effects multiplying across the society. At IDF, we are endeavouring relentlessly to harness this often ignored potential of women shackled to institutions and societies impairing their holistic development. Our work becomes a little easier when people like you take the initiative to stand by our side and the women of India.
